Ah Ma~ Ah Pa~

Was chatting with a friend in msn and she told me that she's going to register (married) soon.
Then she asked me, should i refer my future husband's parents as ah ma, ah pa after the registration? or after we had our wedding dinner?

hmm... for most chinese, registration doesn't mean married to them. they will still refer themselves as single till they had their 'yum-cha' session & wedding dinner.

As for me, registration is equal to married. You are legally married what, how can u say you are still single? so my answer to her, should call ah pa, ah ma cos you two are married! understand lar.. paiseh ma, especially for gals, but sooner or later also have to call one wat .. hehe..

after that i asked a few friends that already married, whether they start calling before or after the wedding dinner. and guess what, most of them said, after wedding dinner lar, that time only considered married mar. wuahahahahah...

well well well, wedding dinner is more important than the legal registration?

so what do you think? :)
