Chili Pan Mee - Restoran Kin Kin
I purposely woke up early on saturday to go try this chili pan mee @ Jalan Raja Chulan. FL told me about this after his colleagues brought him there few weeks ago. We rushed there (i woke up already 12++pm, ya that's early to me on a saturday!! :p) cos scared after lunch hour they close shop.
Going to KL is a nightmare, even on weekends. jam jam jam everywhere, it took us 1 hour++ to reach there. I told myself hopefully the chili pan mee is worth for all these traffic jams. Finally we were there at around 2pm.
The shop were full of ppl, lunch hour mar.. so we gotta 'dap toi' (tumpang other ppl's table). I asked FL why he didn't go order, he said no need order one, not even the drinks!! I looked at him with all the question marks above my head.. what? no need to order? well, since he said so, i might as well listen to him lor..so i just sit quietly and looked around the shop.
I saw there's something written with marker on the tiles of the wall..
Restoran Kin Kin DO NOT have any branch!!haha... a lot of pirated chili pan mee i guess...
then another one.. this is funny..
Our mee are all serve in one standard size. Mee order in dry form are served with a small bowl of vegetable soup, when your mee is being served, the soup will only arrive later because we have to go through the second step to prepare it hot just for you!!haha, like tat also can ar.. must be a lot of ppl asking for the soup after they are being served and the boss got fed up.. It's written on a few wall tiles on that shop.
We sat here for like 10 minutes, finally an indonesian maid SLOWLY served us with barley ice. She didn't asked us whether we want or not, she just put it on your table. if you want something else you need to tell her that you don't want, besides barley, they only have can drinks.
No wonder don't need to order, cos their mee are all in one size, no large no medium no small. and their mee are only in DRY form, means no pan mee soup...So after another 15 minutes, we were served.
the pan mee special is the CHILI.
so i added 2 teaspoon into my pan mee..
not very clear cos the mee itself is dark,
then the chili also in dark color.
so how it taste? well, i feel the pan mee itself is nothing special, but the chili are very spicy.. so after added the chili you can only taste the chili. If you never try before you should go and have a try, but i guess i won't go again, i don't feel it's very tasty, just normal pan mee with extra chili...
How much is it? i also not so sure, it's stated there pan mee per bowl is RM4.80. FL had 2 bowls of mee, so altogether 3 bowls, plus the meat balls & fish balls, and 2 drinks.. altogether RM 21.70. quite expensive ...
Interested to go try it out? It's at jln raja chulan, looked for the MyDin wholesale supermarket, it's behind the shops opposite MyDin.
