Langkawi Trip ~ Day 1

Flight @ 10:20am, LCCT, but we departed earlier, 10:10am, reached Langkawi International Airport at 11:10am.

There's a lot of counter for us to rent car. We simply picked one and rented a waja for RM140 (3 days) . Got a map from one of the counter too. The waja looks quite old but still in good condition, air con and etc all working fine.

Took us 15 minutes after asking a local to find a petrol station as the person that rented the car to us gave us the wrong direction, kiri he said kanan, and kanan becomes kiri. Pump half tank of petrol, RM50.

We have no problem in finding our hotel, Awana Porto Malai with the help of the map and all the sign boards.
Awana Porto Malai

Reached hotel at 12++pm, the rooms are not ready yet, so we left our luggage at the hotel and headed to the Langkawi Underwater World which is nearby, 10 minutes drive.

The ticket price for adult is RM28, and RM18 for children. I remembered when i visited this place 4 yrs ago the ticket is only selling at the price of RM15 per adult. A RM13 increment of the ticket price is quite a lot. Hopefully there's a lot of new things to see la. We bought our tickets at the Matta Fair for the same price, the only difference is we got free meals. (MeeHun/KuayTeow/Mee Soup, Soft Drinks & Ice Cream).

Can you there's 2 little monkeys there?
It's smaller than my hand!!

The Lion Fish (if i'm not mistaken lar. hehe..)

Crab

Leafy Sea Dragon

The Ugly Fish 1

The Ugly Fish 2

Quite disappointing, didn't see much difference from my last visit, 4 yrs ago, except for the penguins.

The penguins swim like this when
they are doing their business.. SHIT-TING la!!!
haha !!

As for our free lunch, well, not nice at all lar.. the voucher there stated MeeHun/KuayTeow/Mee Soup but they told us they only have Meehun Soup & Fried Rice. I had the fried rice, as i expected, not nice at all.

After lunch we went shopping beside the Underwater World, The Duty Free Zon. Things there are not so cheap, so i only bought 2 chocolates, besides The Duty Free Zon there another small shop, The Coco Valley Shop, their chocolate there are cheap. This time I bought RM55 chocolates.

We headed to Kuah Town for more shopping after checked-in. First we went to the famous eagle bay. 5pm++ under the hot sun, we were there for around 15 minutes only. Nothing much to see, basically just the big big eagle, nothing else.

Then we went to the Langkawi Mall just opposite eagle bay. There's a supermarket called Billion and the chocolates there were CHEAP!! I spend another RM50 buying chocolates.

Besides Billion, there's a shop selling variety of liquor, can find a lot of different brands of beer/liquor/sparking juice here.

After spending a lot of money, we decided to go makan-makan. Went to a seafood restaurant near the Eagle Bay, didn't know which restaurant is nice so basically we're just trying out our luck.

Forgot wat's the name of the restaurant, it's a corner shop. There's 5 adults and 1 kid and we ordered kangkung belacan, taufu, herbal chicken(the most expensive dish and not nice!!), kam-heong lala, the portion is very small but the food is delicious. I think they treat us like water fish lar, cos all these costs us Rm96!!

Went to look-see look-see at a duty free shop opposite the restaurant, i found the chocolate that my colleague asked me to buy, so i spend another RM70++ buying chocolates. hehe ..

Final stop, the Langkawi Parade, heard it's the biggest shopping mall in langkawi. There's a shop called 'Teow Soon Huat', liquor there are cheap, we bought a bottle of chivas for RM65, free bag some more, and of cos, chocolates, bought a chocolate with liquor to try, costs Rm9.50.

Headed back to hotel, so tired after all the shopping. Pocket also got lubang liao...pokkai liao ...

Total purchase of chocolates
@ the end of the day!!
