Which notebook brand is the best?

My phone conversation with my brother, he wants to buy a notebook and he asked me to recommend.

b: hey, i want to buy notebook, recommend lar..
(well, i'm not an expert, but since i'm in IT, so he thought i know everything about computer, networking, software, programming, in short, everything related to IT la... hehe..)

j: err, acer & dell not bad lar, price ok also, but doesn't look that nice lor...if got more budget, then maybe try compaq lor, compaq quite nice, heard it's quite good also, if got even more budget then sony lor..sony super nice lar...

b: .... so which one better?

j: depends lar, u want to use for wat? u want nice design? how much is your budget?

b: err.. nice of cos good lar, budget as low as possible lor.. use for everything lor..
(his everything would be checking email, online...)

j: (speechless...)

j: i think you buy those with good support one lar, if anything happened to your notebook, then they can help mar..

b: so which one?

j: i used acer, acer support not bad.. dell i heard also not bad.. others i not very sure lar..

b: the pc guy here asked me to take toshiba wor.. he said tochiba is the BEST among all the notebooks, like sharp lar, if wanna buy LCD tv, then must buy sharp, they are the BEST!!!
(got such thing, i don't know leh, never even heard b4!)

j: wah, never heard b4 wor. toshiba ar.. errr, my friend's comp using toshiba notebook lar, he tried to spoil it but he's not successful lor, even dropped on the floor still can use, but super ugly lar..not sure about the new design..

b: aiyar, i dono lar, i want cheap, nice, good support.. you find for me lar.. bye..
(du..du...du.....)

walaoeh, like tat also can ar... cheap, nice, good support, can pay installment, like tat i also want lar!!!

ACER is good for the price. They are cheap and somewhat reliable. DELL in my opinion is not worth the money to get it. An Rm6000 DELL notebook might as well i'll go for an IBM Thinkpad, or a Sony Vaio. In short, when money is concern, go for ACER. There's ASUS and BENQ as well for its sleek designs. Reliability wise, i am not sure.
