Malay vs Muslim

A malay colleague of mine, SH, told us that his great grandfather is an indian muslim. Then another colleague of mine, CC, got confused and asked, indian is indian, muslim is muslim, how can he be an indian and a muslim?

We all laughed at him and explained to him. A malay must be a muslim but a muslim not necessary needs to be a malay. An indian can be a muslim, a chinese can be a muslim too. So all malays are muslims but not all muslims are malays. Just like not all chinese are buddhists and etc. Then SH gave another eg, all malay are bumiputeras but not all bumiputeras are malays!!

wuahahahaha, i think after our detailed explanation, my colleague got even more confused!! :p
